Outbound Training - Navy Camp
Outbound Training
It was one of my best academic field trips. The training
session was held at Trincomalee Navy camp. The session was organized for the
both first year and second year batches. Almost like 75 students participated
the session. We left the campus premises by 5 am and reached the navy camp
around 10.30 am. Then we changed ourselves and went to have the lunch. After
that our mystery journey began we walked like 2kms and came to a beach at that
beach we were divided into teams my team was Bravo
We did
·
Went through an high-tension current box.
·
Went like a coach holding wood boxes
·
Played volleyball in a different way
·
Filled a long holed pipe with only hands and
mouth filled with sea water
The night it was entertaining we had a campfire and a calypso
played there. Our teams were ready for perform in the event. My team decided to
do a drama and a group song. That night was really good. We had a delicious
dinner also from the base.
In the morning we were advised to dress up with the PT kit.
We had our breakfast and then went to a section. That day we were given a task to
travel to a specific location having only a map and a compass. First we started
from a jungle then we counted the steps and went to the direction that compass
pointed us. I was the team leader and it was remarkable experience to me. On
the way to our destination we met a guy who has fallen down from a tree. We
were asked to treat him. But I think we have failed as the officer said after
session. The patient should be taken very carefully and do not lift up several
times as his injury was in the bones.
Finally we came to a beautiful beach. We begged
our madam to let us swim but she denied that.
It was our final event then we went to see the museum of
navy. I have visited there before so it was not a first time experience but the
officers have influenced us more than before. In the evening we came back to
the Campus.
